Sunday is for baking.

Hello friends and happy sunday!

I just realized today that every Sunday I bake something. I don’t know why – I just do. And then I thought: Why not share the baked cuteness with you? 🙂 So here’s my first (of hopefully many) recipe on a Sunday for you!

Let’s make oatmeal cookies!

When I was a student I used to bake these a lot with my mom. They’re a quick (and not too sweet) treat.

Here’s what you’ll need for 2 baking trays full of sweetness:

1 cup margarine
1 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup white sugar
2 eggs
1 tablespoon vanilla
1 1/2 cup flour
1 tablespoon baking powder
1/2 tablespoon salt
3 cups oatmeal (i mix up 1 1/2 cups of the „tender“ ones with 1 1/2 cup whole grain oat flakes – makes the cookies more…. crunchy)
chocolate chips

Preheat oven to 180 °C.

First, stir the sugar, margarine, eggs and vanilla. Then, add the flour, baking powder and salt. After that you want to mix it with the oatmeal and the chocolate chips. Your batter might now be a little solid but that’s ok. With 2 tablespoons, place small piles on your baking sheet (covered with baking paper) and place in your oven. After 12 – 15 minutes you’ll have the most delicious cookies ever! 🙂

Oh, and you might want to drink milk while eating them. D-E-L-I-C-I-O-U-S!!!!!

Pretty easy, hum? And works great for lactoseintolerant people like me (if you use lactosefree chocolate).

Happy baking, friends!

  2. I think I need to start baking every Sunday. Monday has to be better if there are fresh baked goods present. Also those cookies look delicious.
