This post is not about a journaling prompt…. it is more about a fun DIY! Of course it’s journal inspired. Let’s create a fun adventure journal lovelies!
I found inspiration in this very cute mini journal I bought from Scrapbook-Werkstatt.
It is a mixed media journal and YEAH – I totally thought you would love the design as much as I did. So I created one myself and wanted to show you how:
First I grabbed a bunch of materials. I used scrapbooking paper, transparent paper, stickers, paper bags, doilies…just used stuff I already had at home 🙂
I tried which size I liked best and cut the paper I picked for the cover of my journal. Then I added a layer of pretty woodgrain printed transparent paper.
Then I added layer by layer to the inside of the journal. I always made sure the pages were aligned in the middle so the next step won’t fail. I also used cut outs from scrapbooking pages – like a camper wagon. When I used these cutouts, I folded them so they would fit.
Once I was happy with my journal I used the sewing machine to hold all the pieces together. I chose a large stitch size and a simple straight stitch and simply stitched along my folding line in the middle.
And then I was done. Like, really. It is THAT simple.
Look at the pretty pages inside:
I want to use this journal as an adventure journal and add some adventurous pictures soon. So here’s to adventures and fun times in the spring / summer of 2012!
