Escape/ Altered by Jennifer Rush

You guys, I read this book in one day straight. I just couldn’t put it aside. Do you know that feeling of not being able to do anything else than reading that book you seriously fell in love with?

I haven’t felt this way for some time. Now I fell in love again.

And I am SO sad I finished reading already. I miss the story. I miss the people in this book. Oh my.

The Story:

16 year old Anna lives with her Dad in a Farmhouse. One day she discovers there are 4 boys in transparent cages in her basement. They are part of a project for the government, called „the section“ and those 4 boys were made to become the best soldiers ever. Annas Dad is part of this project and does some research on the boys. Anna then started to work with her father and almost every night she creeped into the basement to talk to one of the boys, Sam. Of couse she falls in love with him and when the boys want to flee, she flees with them. And then there begins a journey where in the end noone knows who he (or she) really is or WAS before they were forced to join the project.

Is it worth reading?

Totally. Five stars and many, many more, on my rating list. This is my personal book of the year already.

What more do I have to say? Please just give it a try and read. I promise you won’t regret it!

  1. The book came out in January and you already read it. You are becoming my personal researcher for work („Work“ is conveniently at the YA department of a bookstore ;)). Now I don’t have to read the book myself. Haha!
